I won't apologize to the pilot: Kerala MP Print E-mail
Monday, 14 April 2008

New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): The row involving Kerala MP P V Abdul Wahab and the pilot of an Air India flight, who ordered him off the aircraft for allegedly delaying its departure, deepened on Sunday as the former refused to apologize and threatened the pilots' body to "do what it wants to do".

"There is no question of any apology from my side. I have done nothing wrong," said Wahab.

"Let the pilots association do what it wants to do," he added.

"I have not even told anyone what the pilot had said to me. My party President E Ahmed has asked me not to say anything right now. They are going to fight the battle on my behalf," Wahab told a news channel.

When asked about the charge that he had entered the cockpit and therefore created a security scare, he said: "I am writing to Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel to install cameras inside cockpits. Let the nation know what happens there."

The Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) had said that they would file a defamation suit against the Muslim League MP for calling the pilot a "glorified driver". The association also accused him of conducting a "serious" breach of security norms and endangering flying operations and asked him to tender an unconditional apology. (ANI)
