Pakistan successfully launches Hataf-VI, Shaheen-II missile Print E-mail
Monday, 21 April 2008

Islamabad, Apr 21 (ANI): Pakistan today successfully launched surface-to-surface Hatf VI, Shaheen II ballistic missile on Monday.

According to The News, the missile Hatf VI, Shaheen II has a range of 2000 kilometers (1,200 miles) and can carry both nuclear and conventional warheads.

Nuclear-armed Pakistan and India routinely carry out missile tests despite a peace process they launched in early 2004.

The South Asian neighbours, who conducted tit-for-tat nuclear weapons tests in 1998, inform each other of missile tests in advance.

Chief of Pakistan Navy Admiral Muhammad Afzal, who was also present on the launching of the Hataf-VI, Shaheen-II missile, congratulated scientists and engineers responsible for the missile's development.

On Saturday, Pakistan had successfully test fired a long-range, nuclear-capable Hatf VI, Shaheen II ballistic missile. (ANI)
