Harbhajan-Sreesanth row shocks people in Kochi Print E-mail
Monday, 28 April 2008

Kochi (Kerala), Apr 27 (ANI): Shocked with the Harbhajan-Sreesanth row, the people of Kochi are demanding punishment for the off spinner.

“Harbahajan should be punished for his bad approach on the ground and this is not correct as it will put a bad impression on the upcoming players, said a resident of Kochi.

Sresanths fan Ankush, 12, says that Harbhajan should not have slapped Sreesanth.

He should not have done it. It has really hurt me a lot. As a sportsman, we also accept others weaknesses or mistakes on the ground and never hurt anyone, said Lagus M, a businessman in Kochi.

Family pacer S. Sreesanth, however, refused to respond to the incident, as they believe that it will aggravate the issue further,

After the IPL match between Punjabs Kings XI and Mumbai Indians in Mohali on April 25, Harbhajan had allegedly hit Sreesanth. The fast bowler, Sreesanth who otherwise is known for his on-the-field aggression, was seen crying bitterly on the ground after the incident.

Harbhajan Singh has been temporarily suspended from the Indian Premier League.

His suspension is pending till the inquiry into the incident on Monday, which means he would not be able to play Mumbai's home match against Deccan Chargers on Sunday. (ANI)
