London, May 3 (ANI): Dungeon dad Josef Fritzl stopped having sex with his wife years ago, claiming "she is too fat for me," his sister-in-law claimed on May 2.
Josef's 56-year-old sister-in-law, Christine said that the 73-year-old electrical engineer pretended to wife, Rosemarie, 68, that he was working around the clock on the blueprints for machines he was building.
"He would go to the cellar every day at nine in the morning and he would often even spend the night there. He claimed he was drawing blueprints for the machines he was selling. Rosie was not even allowed to bring him a cup of coffee," The Sun quoted Christine, as saying.
"Everyone knew they stopped having sex since many years. He would say: 'My wife is too fat for me'. He was always running down Rosemarie and everyone noticed how he was always laughing the loudest at dirty sex jokes," she added.
And she told how Fritzl ruled the family home in Amstetten like a tyrant.
Christine said: "He behaved like a drill instructor with his children.
"They had to stop whatever they were doing and stand still when he would enter the room, even if they were in the middle of playing some game. They constantly feared punishment.
"The only way to escape that surrounding was to get married. And they all did that, as soon as they were old enough. When Rosemarie married Josef she was only 17. She never learned a trade and was at his mercy and he exploited that fact for 51 years."
Josef has seven children with Rosemarie and also fathered six kids with his own daughter, Elisabeth, now 42.
Dungeon dad planning to plead insanity
In the meantime, it has emerged that Josef Fritzl wants to plead insanity to explain his sick crimes, it has emerged.
The sex beast has told his lawyer: "I don't think I'm all there."
The rapist has also begged legal ace Rudolf Mayer to arrange psychological tests to prove he is mentally unfit.
"Josef has said, 'I need to know what is at the root of me - I knew I was different and something was not right with me'," The Sun quoted Mayer, as saying.
Mayer added: "In the court case it will certainly be a question of whether he was legally sane at the alleged time of the crime."
The brief said he would be looking back at Fritzl's background to try to find evidence of "a psychological condition".
Mayer also revealed that warped Fritzl has begged both his families to visit him in jail.
Mayer said: "He has had no visitors yet but has told me he'd be delighted if they came."
Dungeon dad's incest kids will need '8 years of intensive therapy'
The impact of monster Josef Fritzl has been so dreadful on the kids he fathered with his daughter that according to psychiatrists they could face up to eight years of intensive therapy.
According to Professor Max Friedrich, the Fritzl's children are afraid of the colour blue, birdsong and rustling leaves.
He believes that it will take a long time for them to recover.
"It will take them between four and eight years of intensive therapy," The Daily Express quoted him, as saying.
The extent of the damage to Stefan, 18, and five-year-old Felix is just becoming clear.
A windowless chamber has been built for when they need to retreat.
But Bernhard Kepplinger, the supervising doctor for the Fritzl family, including the three children raised above ground, is more cautious.
"Each child will need individual therapy and we should be careful not to overdo it," he said.
An immediate task is separating Stefan and Felix from their traumatised mother Elisabeth, 42.
"They were probably overprotected in the cellar," said Dr Kepplinger.
Elisabeth spent 24 years locked in the dungeon under Fritzl's house in Amstetten and had to shield her children from the father's sexual abuse.
According to sources on the investigation team, when they heard their father raping their mother they would retreat to a bedroom and watch TV to block out the noise. (ANI)
