Several LTTE rebels killed in Sri Lanka Print E-mail

Colombo, June 29 (ANI): At least 41 Tamil Tiger rebels and two soldiers lost their lives in fierce fighting in embattled parts of northern Srilanka.

According to the Srilankan Defence Ministry, troops killed 20 guerrillas in the District of Vavuniya on Saturday while 14 were killed in neighbouring Weli Oya region.

Another seven Tamil Tigers were killed in the coastal District of Mannar.

Two soldiers were killed while seven were wounded in the fighting.

Around 33 members of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) were injured in Saturday's clashes. (ANI)
