Madge snubs Ritchie's Big Apple move beg by insisting on a divorce PDF Print E-mail

London, July 3 (ANI): Despite enjoying a romantic dinner date with Guy Ritchie, Madonna has indicated that she still wants a divorce - by turning down her hubby's begging offer to move to New York.

The Brit film director was prepared to sacrifice the life he loves in England for a chance at a reunion, and even begged the pop queen to let him move to the Big Apple in a last-gasp bid to save their marriage.

However, sources say that the singer told him in no uncertain terms: "You're not coming. I still want a divorce. Stay in London."

The couple's marriage is on the rocks over Madonna's plans to relocate their family to New York.

Though Guy has always been opposed to the idea, he still made his dramatic U-turn in the wake of a divorce.

But Madonna, 49, left him shocked by telling him the offer is no longer on the table, and he should stay in England.

"Guy did a lot of soul-searching after Madonna asked him for a divorce and thought he may be able to salvage the situation by agreeing to leave London full-time for the Big Apple," the Mirror quoted a source, as saying.

"He knew it was a long shot but he will do anything to keep the family together. Yet no sooner had he told her than she said it wasn't an option any more.

"It's all very sad but Guy is now resigned to them living apart," the source added. (ANI)
