Washington, Jan 16 (ANI): Charlize Theron is all set to star in an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's best-selling 2006 novel 'The Road'.
The Monster star is likely to be mostly seen in flashback, according to Variety.
Viggo Mortensen will co-star in the movie in which his character who, following a nuclear explosion, undertakes a hellish road trip in order to save his son from both the fallout and cannibals, reports Contactmusic.
Theron has agreed to take on a minor role as the wife of Mortensen's character, reportedly because she is a fan of the novel and due to a desire to work with producer Nick Weschler, with whom she teamed up on 2000's 'The Yards'.
The film is being directed by John Hillcoat, helmer of 'The Proposition'. (ANI)
